Modern society relies on a huge quantity of polymeric materials almost exclusively based on fossil resources and making use of a non-sustainable approach of development. Taking this into account, this COST Action was born from the idea and the absolute need of creating a network of experts in the whole-value chain of furan materials, including polymers (the so-called plastics), but also starting biomass feedstocks together with the planning of these new products end-life. All of this aiming at a better future based on a sustainable model of development!
